All Right Little Man, Way To Go!

Look at my little guy finally pushing up during tummy time! I was starting to get a little concerned that he was not coming along on schedule as far as being able to do more on his stomach but then Chris and I looked up what he was supposed to be doing at 4 months (tomorrow) and yes, he should be able to push up to a 90 degree angle within a few weeks. However, the book also states that this generation of babies is developing their gross motor skills a bit slower than the our generation due to all the new info about having babies sleep on their backs to prevent SIDS. It also said that was completely normal and fine. Made me feel better to read that though. We were told to file Liam's nails instead of cut them to avoid hurting him. I seem to file them into razor sharp points; instead of making them less dangerous I seem to be giving him weapons. Maybe someone can help me this week....
BTW, (by the way), your grandson/great-grandson/nephew/friend does not have an oddly large head, I assure you, it is just the camera angle!

All Tired Out From A Night Of.....Sleeping....

So, last night was a success! We started his new bedtime routine; bath, changing, swaddled and fed and he was sound asleep by 10:30. He woke up every 3-4 hours to eat and then woke up at 10:20 this morning. Of course as you can see from the picture he is now sound asleep in his swing so I guess that is fine. Tomorrow is the big day. I am packing tonight and we will leave some time in the morning, probably not as early as we want to. I will be impressed if we make it out of here by 10. SEE you all soon!!!!!!!!!!

So Close.....

I'm doing laundry for the trip and finishing up some baking projects. Liam has had two bad nights in a row at about 10:30 PM, he just cries, for about 40 minutes. I think he may be staying up too late. We are taking his bath at 9:30 PM and then off to bed, swaddled, see if that helps. Of course you may recall last time we attempted this, final bedtime was at 0130 HRS....

Quit Bugging Me!!!!! (No Really, This Thing Is Freaking Me Out)

I snuck up on Liam to take these pictures. I really think he has a love-hate relationship with his wrist rattles! So adorable. I walked over to my new friend Carol's house with him today and he was flirting like crazy with her little girl. She is 5 and he just couldn't get enough of her! So today is an ordinary day, cleaning, cooking, napping, quick run to the video store and we are all set for the day. I looooove being a stay at home Mom! Til later!

He Coulda Been A Contender

Doesn't Liam look like a little boxer? Fly weight? Mosquito? Grain O' Sand? I don't know but he sure is cute!

So, the normal diapers Liam wears were changed a bit and the new model caused irritation to Liam's tummy. I wrote the company and they sent me coupons for one free Mega and one free Jumbo package of diapers! They have another style that works just fine. Isn't that great. I was so thankful. Let's see, what else is new? Not much. Only 3 more days!!!!!!!

Sir Hugs-A-Lot

Liam has an outfit that says "Sir Hugs-A-Lot" and I think it is very cute. Chris goes back to work tomorrow. Boooo!!!!Hisss!! But only 4 more days until we see the "C" Family. Yay!!!!!! It is trying to rain here right now. Yay!!!!!!I love the rain. Don't like driving in it though. Did I mention the Dodge dealership charged us 100 dollars just to tell us the check engine light was on because the gas cap wasn't on properly? Boooo!! Hissss!!!!! Ok enough with the Great American Melodrama impersonations. The G.A.M. is near my parents house and it is so much fun because sometimes the play they put on is the type where the audience participates by booing the villan and cheering the hero. I love to go there. My parents and I have seen Sherlock Holmes, Frankenstein, Dracula..... What else Mom and Dad? I went volunteered and went onstage when I was 6 to sing a song and then hid behind the actor the whole time. Luckily that was my only bout with stage fright.

So in the above pictures, we had some extra lights so we strung them up over Liam's play gym. Don't worry, he can't reach them and we don't leave him unsupervised. Sometimes he likes to chew on the wires....JUST KIDDING!!!!!!! Don't adjust the picture quality it has that yellow glow due to the lights. He loved them and really fought sleep. Well, til later guys!

I Love You, A Bushel And A Peck

Grandma C left a song on Chris' voicemail, we held the phone up for Liam to hear, and he loved it. We had him listen a few times and he just grinned. I thought I had heard Liam laugh, but yesterday Chris was playing with him and Liam did this belly laugh, that I had never heard. It was so cute. Only Chris has got him to do this so far. Chris says Liam was flirting with ladies in the supermarket. He is such a ladies man.

I like to say "I am my father's daughter." When I do something mechanically retarded. My dad is the smartest guy I know, TWO master's degrees, but when it comes to putting things together or the like....Aye-yi-yi! So today I had a "father's-daughter-moment." Chris' Dodge is the type you have to climb in the back to sit on the bench seat. It is only 2 doors. So today I climbed in the backseat and put on my seatbelt. Chris just stood there staring at me. Then he says, "Do you mind giving me back my seatbelt and using your own? I thought you were joking!!!!" I had sat down and promptly fastened his front belt into my seat clasp in the back and I didn't even notice anything wrong!!!!!! I was just sitting there wondering why he was looking at me like I had 3 heads. Maybe you had to be there, but I was so embarassed!

Well that is all for now. We had another good day off. Loving you all!

"Anything Liam Can Do, I Can Do Better"---(Sung by Xena)

Well, to do the story justice, I will just let Xena tell it:

"Hey guys, it's me, Xena. How is everyone? So it went down like this: I saw the lady and the boy over on this brightly colored mat. Well, to be honest, I am assuming it was brightly colored, after all, I am color blind. So I hear her tell the boy something like, "It's Tummy Time!" In this really dorky voice she uses sometimes when she talks to him. I think if she talked to me like that, I'd bite her. I digress, so she puts him down on the mat and she wants him to lift his head, and when he does she tells him what a good boy he is and how smart he is. Smart? I can shake hands, I know left from right, I can speak and lay down. I can sit still for up to 2 minutes with out moving and HE is smart for lifting his head? Puh-leez! So I go over there, lay down next to him on his mat and show him how it is done. Must have been right too, because when I did it, the lady got all excited and grabbed the flashy-thing. I don't know what the heck the flashy thing is. I just know that if I hold really still when the lady flashes it at me, I usually get treats or a belly rub afterwards. So I pulled out my best moves, and I was right, I got a belly rub AND a biscuit. Score! When Dad got home, the lady told him all about what I had done and I got even more belly rubs. The kid? He didn't get any belly rubs or biscuits when Dad got home. He just got picked up and Dad gave him something I overheard as "kisses" Big deal. Besides if Dad really wanted to know how the boy's day was, all he would have had to do was sniff---"

OK, I am going to cut her off right there, thanks Xena...Ahem...So, Xena once again proved how smart she was. Liam's new thing is "helping." When you change his diapers, he will hold his clothes up. That does help. Then he also grabs onto your hand so you can't move, unsticks the diaper flaps, grabs the diaper and pulls it away and kicks so hard you can't fasten the diaper. He thinks it is hilarious. Usually I do too, unless I am in a hurry! When Liam came along I thought about buying one of those diaper wipe warmers but I never got around to it. And really, I am too lazy to warm the wipes up in my hands. So, when I change Liam's diaper, sometimes those wipes are really cold, and he does the funniest thing. He goes, "Ah, hah, hah, hah," in exactly the same way you or I would say, "Oh, oh that's cold!" It is the funniest thing. Well, that is all for now! SEE all of you real soon, "C" and "B" Clans!!!!!!!

Just Like Grandpa B ! ! !

Lest you think my dad parades around the house in reindeer breifs, I assure you the title applies to the falling asleep in front of the TV pictures! So I sent my dad the reideer pictures and he sent me back one line:

"...oh the indignity of it all!"

Then I sent the ones where Liam is dozing in front of the TV to my dad, saying to him, "Hey Dad he is just like you!" and he emailed me back one simple line:

"...and now dignity-abuse against the father"

I laughed so hard! The day I brought home these reindeer pants, I overheard Chris telling Liam, "I promise, if I see you in these I will immediately remove them." And destroy any photographic evidence I am sure....Too late!!!!!!!

Grin And Bear It ! ! !

Oh, isn't he the cutest little bear you ever saw!!!!!! We ran our errands after dark and I wanted to make sure he stayed warm. Grandmalinda got this for him and it is sooooo soft. Everywhere we went people just smiled. The picture above that is my favorite is the one with his arms open wide, don't you just want to pick him up??? Well, not much else to say, loving you all!

Ode To My Vacuum Cleaner

It took me eight years to evolve into the kind of wife Chris deserves. I was talking to our friend Scott from Michigan and I told him I was vaccuming the ceiling and he said, "I don't believe you!" Scott has lived with us twice so he knows my past history with cleaning! It was formerly a hate-hate relationship. If I am brutally honest, my hate affair with cleaning goes back to when I was a child. I actually had custom made shirts, that when I grew out of them, I got a new one, from the age of about 5-12 that said, "CLEAN ROOMS ARE BORING" Mom can back me up on that! I specifically remember, in high school, not being able to go out with friends until my room was tidy, so I'd stuff things in the closet, under the bed, in desk drawers, behind books and out on the balcony. I would run the vacuum over the floor (while it was off) to leave the vacuum marks so it would seem like I had vacuumed. How lazy is that? It would have been faster to vacuum the room!!!!! And so it is with great pleasure that I wrote this poem for my Dyson vacuum, it is entitled "YOU SUCK, BUT IN A GOOD WAY":

Oh little vacuum so brave and true,

You keep my floor clean and looking new.

You await your next use in the closet, standing tall,

Lately there are a lot of leaves on the floor, because it is fall.

Because of you my house looks so clean,

Thank you my vaccum, I hope you know what I mean.

This poem proves that that I appreciate you,

It also shows I need to get out more, boy that is true!

Thank you, thank you I am a woman of so many talents. Well that's all for now. Did I just hear someone in the back say, "Thank goodness." ???? No comments from the peanut gallery! Did I mention my vaccum can pick up peanuts?.......

Oh Bee-have ! ! !

I think Liam is having flashbacks in some of these pictures, from when he got stung by a wasp. Remember that? One week out and he gets attacked. So wrong! Luckily, he and the bugs made peace and now they are the best of friends. I am almost done with my Christmas shopping, can you believe it? I am so proud. Well gotta go, til later!
